Weekend Preview

This weekend sees the Bulls play in 4 fixtures across three different leagues - all of them must win games.

The first is on Saturday when Cardiff Uni are the visitors to Everest in the regional league. The Bulls are without several key first team players but will still be hoping for victory over a developing University side who have only recorded one victory in the regional league. The previous fixture saw Basingstoke struggle to break down a tough defence but their perseverance paid off as they won 10-5

Sunday sees the second team in action against both Isis 2 and Isis 3. 2 wins will virtually secure the second division title. Isis 2 have been fielding some very good players recently however and will be looking to repeat the first game of the season, when they narrowly beat BB2. That game was the only defeat suffered in the league all season - and hopefully the last.

In between these two games is a top v bottom clash as BB1 take on Reading. Despite their poor league position nothing will be taken for granted as Reading are a very experienced side with several top quality players. The two teams enjoy something of a local rivalry and the Knights will be doing all they can to ruin Basingstoke's race for the title. The Bulls go into the game knowing that 3 victories from the last 3 games will secure top spot and so will want to avoid slipping on this potential banana skin.
