Domination one step closer

Victory over Reading in the First Division means that Basingstoke Bulls 1 are now 2 points behind leaders Oxford Isis 1 with a game in hand. First Team Captain Louisa Gillies writes:

Another good win for BBKC1, albeit to a slightly under-strength Reading side:

BBKC 1 .v. Reading 15 - 4

Paddy (4), Jon (1), Lou, Keren

Vlad (3), Viktor (3), Ali (3), Em (1), Alex

Some great attacking play on court this afternoon that would have made Graham proud. The attacks really flowed and the shooting drills are definitely paying off, with a nice mix of long, running in and drop off shots. Vlad's division, which has now been playing together for a good few months, has really come together. They dominated attack scoring 10 of the 15 goals! Ali got in to an excellent rhythm, making lots of good chances and converting 3 goals. Viktor was truly the drop-off shot master and he and Em provided superb support play. Vlad had a calm match and sunk some awesome long shots. Alex came on for Vlad in the 2nd half and handled Reading's Steve splendidly.

Lou's division shone in defence and didn't let in a single goal....despite Paddy's best effort to score for the opposition! Undisputed moment of the season :D Paddy redeemed himself with a flurry of running-in shots and by scooping MVP. For comedy value surely? Jon dominated the post, and his player, ensuring the ball stayed in attack and out of defence. Lou did a lot of coughing, but got some good interceptions, and Keren defended excellently and really helped to open up the attack. We were very unlucky as a division not to score more.

We're now in a fantastic position for the last 2 matches of the season and if we play like we did today we'll join the 2nds at the winner's table. Let's do it!
