Basingstoke Bulls 1 go top

Basingstoke Bulls 1 have gone top of the OKA Division 1 for the first time this season with a 16-7 victory over Oxford City at the weekend. The result leaves the Bulls 2 points clear at the top of the table and the side know that victory in their final game against Oxford University will guarantee they emulate the Second team with a maiden league title.

Oxford City fielded a strong team but the Bulls opened the scoring early on and from the first minute proved to be too much for Oxford to handle. Dave led the way by scoring 5 goals, all of them within 2.5 metres of the post proving that team work is the key to the Bull's style of play rather than individual prowess. Paddy (1) and Lou (2) ensured the division scored exactly half the goals.

As if to prove that goals come from anywhere on the court, the opposite division also shared the goals around. Vlad scored another hat-trick, the pick being a long range effort that didn't touch the sides. Viktor and Ali scored 2 each whilst Donna showed why she should never be over-looked with a superb effort.

Hopefully an extended highlights package will be available by the weekend on the videos' page.
